John Cooper to receive The Bar & Hedy Hodgson Award for 2017
The Bar & Hedy Hodgson Award encourages preservation of our Canadian motorcycling heritage by honouring a person, group or organization making a significant contribution to the preservation of that heritage.
The Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that JOHN COOPER has been selected as recipient of the award for 2017. The Banquet and Reunion will take place November 4th, 2017 at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel.
John’s name is widely recognized from his articles in Cycle Canada, especially his regular column, “Vintage View” where he continuously provided stories of heroes and legends of the past. He was one of the founders of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group and is an Honourary Lifetime Member.
Fighting for space on his property along with his history books and magazines, John maintains a large collection of vintage motorcycles and regularly raced both a BSA Gold Star and Norton Manx.
John was involved with the Hall of Fame from our early beginnings and supported our mission to recognize the legends and champions of the past. He served on the board for many years including as Chair.
We are delighted to recognize John Cooper for his preservation of Canadian motorcycling history and his contribution to our heritage and to the history of Canadian motorcycling that past and future generations will continue to enjoy.
