The Board of Directors of the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the Historical Members to be inducted into the Hall of Fame for 2017. Roger Beaumont will be honoured at the 12th annual Induction Banquet and Reunion which takes place November 4th, 2017 at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel.

It wasn’t long after Roger arrived in Canada from England in 1957, that he acquired an old Norton and hit the tracks – scrambles, ice races and dirt track. Shortly after, he picked up a Velocette and tried Road Racing which quickly became his favourite type of racing.

In 1962, he acquired a Manx Norton which brought him many victories and in 1965, Beaumont won the Canadian National Championship, repeating this effort on a Triumph.

Roger was part of the US-Canada Challenge Scramble team at Copetown and Grafton, Vermont for several years.

Beaumont represented Canada in the Isle of Man TT races and the European Grand Prix circuit in 1966. His most remembered race was in 1967 in the World Championship Grand Prix at Mosport where he diced with another well known Canadian rider, Mike Duff. It was a duel all the way.

In 1968, riding a Raymond Burke Motors sponsored Triumph Bonneville, Roger set a land speed record of 167mph at Bagotville armed forces base in Quebec which stood for many years.
